Grinnell College won't be playing football this year over concerns of the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement on the athletic department's website, Grinnell President Raynard S. Kington says this decision applies only to sports with schedules that occur within the first fall term.
He says the school will be monitoring the situation before announcing decisions on sports that play later in the fall, and in the spring.
The sports impacted besides football include soccer, golf, cross country, and volleyball.
