Change of Venue Request Made for Man Accused in Fort Dodge Pastor's Murder

FORT DODGE. Iowa - The attorney representing the man accused of killing a Fort Dodge pastor has requested a change of venue.

Thirty-six year-old Joshua Pendleton is accused of first-degree murder in the assault of 64-year-old Pastor Al Henderson outside a Fort Dodge church on October 2, 2019.

The state did not oppose moving the trial out of Webster County, and both sides agreed on holding the trial in Scott County.

Pendleton was found incompetent in February, but after an evaluation, was ruled competent to stand trial in early June.

A trial date has not yet been set, and a judge will decide on the change of venue request.
