Perry Man Accused of Threatening To Kill His Child's Mother

PERRY, Iowa - A Perry man faces stalking charges after being accused of threatening to kill the mother of his child in text messages.

Adel Police say Benjamin Ohrtman sent text messages to the victim on June 11th, stating "that he would murder her, if he could get away with it.”

The victim reported receiving several messages over the course of a few months that made her “feel frightened, intimidated and threatened.”

Ohrtman has been booked into the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash only bond. His next scheduled court date is July 16th on the charge of Stalking- 1st Offense.
