Ames High School cancels softball season after positive COVID-19 test

AMES, Iowa -- A positive COVID-19 test is ending another Iowa high school sports season.

Ames High School says it's cancelling the rest of it's softball season after a player has tested positive for the virus.

The school district says based on guidance from the Story County Public Health Department, the season's being called off and all players and coaches are being advised to self-quarantine for 14 days whether or not they have symptoms.

The Ames High softball team was scheduled to play at Fort Dodge Monday evening.
