Des Moines Police, ATF looking for arson suspect

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms is offering a reward for information on the person who tried to start a fire at the Polk County Courthouse during violent protests in downtown Des Moines.

Des Moines Police say the ATF is offering $5,000 for information regarding the identification of the person who tried to set the fire Saturday, May 30th at about 9:30 p.m.

Police say anyone with information on the person should call 1-888-ATF-TIPS or text ATFKC and tip information to 63975.

Tips can also be submitted through CrimeStoppers of Central Iowa at 515-223-1400.
