Iowa native Dustin Honken executed at federal prison in Indiana

Iowa native Dustin Honken has been put to death, executed this afternoon at a federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Honken is the third federal execution carried out this week, with Wesley Purkey and Daniel Lewis Lee also executed,

He was convicted in 2004 of killing five people to stop three adults from testifying against him in a drug case. He also killed two little girls whose mother was one of the three murdered adults.

Honken was pronounced dead at 3:36 p.m. Iowa time
