DES MOINES, Iowa - Tornadoes broke out in the Des Moines metro area and nearby communities on what was a seemingly sunny summer afternoon on July 19, 2018.
The National Weather Service confirmed a total of 19 tornadoes that day in Iowa.
The most significant damage was in Pella, Bondurant, and Marshalltown, and WHO Radio broadcast live coverage, with listeners calling in to report what they were seeing, as it happened.
