Iowa Democrats, Republicans Hold Events 100 Days Before Election

Former Vice President Joe Biden says Iowa is a "critical battleground state" is November's election.

Biden spoke on video during the Iowa Democratic Hall of Fame virtual presentation Sunday night, where he focused on his campaign and recognized accomplishments by the state's black caucus.

The presentation was a fundraiser for the Iowa Democratic Party.

Iowa could be a battleground state in the upcoming general election. The most recent Iowa Poll showed President Trump with a one point advantage over Biden, which was within the margin of error. Trump won the state by nine points in 2016.

Republicans held an in-person rally at a restaurant in West Des Moines, where Iowa Senior Trump Campaign Advisor Eric Branstad spoke about the President's efforts on making the country great. Branstad is the son of former Republican Iowa Governor terry Branstad.

President Trump was last in Iowa before the state's caucuses. Vice President Mike Pence has made several trips to the state in the past several months.

Both gatherings took place on the date marking 100 days before the November election.
