AMES, Iowa -- The Iowa State University athletics department is announcing a replacement for this year's Iowa football game.
ISU says the Ball State Cardinals will come to Ames on September 12th.
Iowa dropped off the Cyclones' 2020 schedule when the Big 10 said earlier this month it's teams will only play conference schedules in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Iowa State will now play it's first four games at home and eight of 12 games in Jack Trice Stadium.
The Cyclones' first road game will be October 3rd at Kansas.
Iowa State is set to open it's season September 5th against South Dakota.
