Creston Man Charged in Murder of Des Moines Man Found on Rural Road

MADISON COUNTY, Iowa - A Creston man is arrested in connection with a recent homicide.

Forty-one-year-old Gerald Parker was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder.

Parker's accused of shooting 35-year-old Michael Hoffman of Des Moines, who was found dead in an intersection in rural Madison County last week.

Police say Hoffman’s body was found by a delivery driver in the roadway at the intersection of Grandview Trail and Macksburg Road on July 21st. He had been shot to death.

Parker facing life in prison without parole.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Madison County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
