Des Moines Police Chase At More Than 100 mph Ends in Fiery Crash

DES MOINES, Iowa - A person is hurt after a fiery car crash on the south side of Des Moines.

According to police dispatch audio, police began following a car going over 100 miles per hour just after midnight this morning.

The car crashed near Southwest 9th Street and Virginia Avenue around 12:30.

Police later rescued the driver.

They say the female driver was alert and conscious but their injuries are unclear. There is also no word on any arrest connected to the chase.
