20 Iowa counties under disaster proclamation

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Twenty Iowa counties are under a disaster proclamation after Monday's severe weather.

Governor Kim Reynolds' proclamation allows state resources to be used for storm cleanup and recover after widespread damage has left hundreds of thousands of people without power.

The proclamation also activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and Disaster Case Management Program, with grants for home or car repairs, replacement of clothing and food, and temporary housing.
