Woodward-Granger Schools Says Two Siblings Test Positive for COVID-19

GRANGER, Iowa — The Woodward-Granger Community School District says two students, who are siblings at its elementary school have tested positive for COVID-19.

Superintendent Dr. Matt Adams announced Sunday night that the district is working with the local health department to perform contact tracing.

The district says anyone identified as having “close contact” with those who tested positive will be notified on what they need to do.

"We want to assure our school community that the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority," said Adams. "We will continue to be diligent in following the latest guidance from local, state, and federal public health agencies to keep our community as safe as possible."

A letter from Superintendent Adams does not say it's necessary for anyone to quarantine. It asks for parents to monitor their student's health, and for employees to do the same. It advises that individuals remain home if they exhibit any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19.

The district says it's following safety guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
