Central Iowa High School Now Requiring Masks at Football Games

GRANGER, Iowa - Masks will now be mandatory for home football games at Woodward-Granger High School.

The district requires masks in classes, and encouraged them at the schools first game last Friday.

It now has a mandate after noticing as lack of social distancing and mask wearing in the stands.

The next home game for Woodward-Granger High School is September 18th.

Two students in the district have tested positive for COVID-19. The students are siblings at Woodward-Granger Elementary School.

Some districts are imposing further restrictions during the current virus surge in Iowa. Attendance was barred at two high school football games in Iowa City last Friday, where Johnson County has the highest positivity rate in the state - 23.8 percent.

Monday, the White House Coronavirus Task Force announced that Iowa has the highest rate of new COVID-19 cases in the country
