OTTUMWA, Iowa -- Police in Ottumwa are investigating a shooting that left a man in the hospital Thursday morning.
Police say they responded to a report of a shooting around 5:45 a.m and found 40-year-old James D. Cote, who had been shot once in the abdomen.
Cote was taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center in stable condition.
Police say other parties involved in the shooting have been identified.
