ALTOONA, Iowa - Facebook's Altoona Data Center is accepting applications for its 2021 grant program.
The grants are available to non-profits and schools for projects promoting the use of technology in the Altoona and surrounding area in Polk County.
The grants can total more than $200,000 a year, and have been distributed through the Facebook Data Center since 2015.
The grants are available to projects delivered in the cities served by the Southeast Polk and Bondurant-Farrar school districts, including Altoona, Pleasant Hill, Runnells, Mitchellville, Bondurant, and Farrar, that do one or more of the following:
- Address critical community needs by putting the power of technology to use for community benefit;
- Connect people online or off;
- Improve local Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (“STEM”) education.
Grant applications are being accepted through Friday, October 16, 2020, with grant recipients announced by March of next year.
