Fort Dodge Residents Honor Pastor a Year after His Murder

FORT DODGE, Iowa - A group in Fort Dodge is asking residents to perform random acts of kindness in honor of Pastor Allen Henderson, who was killed last year.

The nonprofit Serving Our Servants (SOS) is challenging local residents to "pay it forward" today.

Henderson's church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, is providing free meals for police, fire fighters and EMS workers, and is holding a candlelight vigil tonight in his honor.

SOS has a video on social meeting that explains its "pay it forward" challenge and offers prizes for people who take part.

Joshua Pendleton has been charged with robbery and first-degree murder in the case of Henderson's death.
