Absentee Voting in Iowa Starts Monday

DES MOINES, Iowa - Absentee voting begins today in Iowa.

Voters can cast a ballot at county auditor offices until November 2nd, the day before the election.

Most auditors' offices are open Monday through Friday.

In person absentee voting only takes place at an auditor's office, and people are not allowed to take ballots home with them.

The offices also have ballot marking devices for people who need assistance.

County Auditor offices can be located here. County Auditors are also mailing absentee ballots Monday, 29 days before the election.

Secretary of State Paul Pate says more than 630,000 people have asked for early ballots.

Anyone wanting to vote early...will have until October 24th to request a ballot.

In order to count...the ballots have to be received by county auditors, by the time polls close Election Day., November 3rd or be postmarked by November 2nd.
