Ankeny Schools to Start Full Time In-Person Classes

ANKENY, Iowa - Ankeny schools is moving to 100% in-person learning. The school board voted unanimously (7-0) to make the move on Monday night.

The process will start with pre-K through 5th grade beginning on Monday, October 19th.

Students will be required to wear masks at all times, except during lunch. The district says cleaning will be stepped-up in all school buildings.

Ankeny is currently using a mix of online and in-person classes.

It's had to quarantine hundreds of students and staff members after COVID-19 cases were reported.

The Bondurant-Farrar school district has also chosen to bring back full time in-person classes for pre-kindergarten through 5th grade beginning on October 19th.

Students in 6th through 12th grade could return to full in-person learning as early as November 2nd.
