DES MOINES, Iowa - The Animal Rescue League of Iowa says it's working with Des Moines Police after a cat was found in luggage at Easter Lake Park on the city's southeast side.
The League credits people walking by for discovering the cat inside a piece of rolling luggage near a roundabout at Easter Lake Monday morning.
The ARL says the cat is safe and doing well in its care while an investigation continues.
It's asking for public help to find the people responsible for leaving the cat in the luggage. Anyone with information is asked to make an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa by phone at 515-223-1400.
