Latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report Generally Continues With Negatives

The USDM shows in eastern, southwest and central Nebraska, severe drought expanded along with some expansion of moderate drought.

Moderate, severe, and extreme drought also expanded in western Nebraska as the entire state continues to dry out.

Northwest Iowa also saw degradation this week as severe drought was expanded and a new pocket of extreme drought was introduced.

Portions of northern Illinois were reevaluated based on recent precipitation, and some improvements were made to the moderate drought and abnormally dry conditions based on the short-term precipitation.

Abnormally dry and moderate drought conditions were expanded this week in portions of southern Illinois.
