West Des Moines man headed to prison for stealing from employer

(Des Moines, IA) -- A West Des Moines man's headed to prison after admitting he stole from his employer. Gregory Press pleaded guilty to wire fraud in July of 2019. He's been sentenced to two years in prison and must serve three years of supervised release. A judge has also ordered him to pay his employer $450,000. Press admitted he gave himself unauthorized pay raises and bonuses while working at L & C Billing Services. He also admitted issuing company checks and cash to himself.

Court documents state Press was the director of operations at L & C Billing Services in West Des Moines. He confessed to taking money from the company over a number of years. He said paid his personal credit card debit with company funds and he put two women he knew on the company payroll and insurance plan, although they did not work for the company.
