CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Iowa Derecho Storm Resource Center is organizing services more than two months after the storm hit Cedar Rapids.
The center held a volunteer clean-up effort Sunday with professional tree companies and haulers.
It also plans to pass out free coats, hats, gloves, boots, and athletic wear next Saturday to those in need as winter approaches.
The event is taking place 12 noon-6 p.m. at the Iowa Derecho Storm Resource Center, 4001 First Avenue SE Ste, Cedar Rapids. Items will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
Meanwhile, the city of Cedar Rapids has completed nearly 93 percent of streets in its first pass to clear debris.
