Rock Island PD release details of deadly Friday shooting

(Rock Island, IL) -- The Rock Island Police department's releasing more details about a deadly shooting. Police say 27-year-old Akbar Eaddy died after an exchange of gunfire with officers.

Officers were called to the 24-hundred block of 6th Avenue late Friday night because of a report of a man beating a woman. Police say the suspect left, and was spotted later. Police say at one point Eaddy, who was armed with multiple firearms, got out of a vehicle and ran. Officers chased him through a neighborhood and there were multiple shots fired.

The four officers, Anthony Zier, Andrew Lawler, Zachary Costas, and Randy May were not injured.
