DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Agriculture Department is helping to farmers hurt by the August Derecho.
It's offering funding and technical assistance to repair and rebuild crops that were flattened by the storm.
Farmers in 27 counties covered by Governor Kim Reynolds derecho emergency order are eligible for the help.
Property owner can receive up to 75 percent of the estimated or eligible repair costs.
The state assistance is known as the REAP program. Applications for help must be submitted by December 31st.
