Police Compliance Check Shows Two Marion Businesses Sold Alcohol to Minors

MARION, Iowa - Two businesses face penalties after serving alcohol to minors in Marion.

Police conducted compliance checks at 18 establishments over the weekend.

Cedar Rapids Bowling Center and The Edison Restaurant and Pub sold alcohol to 19 and 20-year-old volunteers. Employees at both businesses checked the ID’s but still allowed for the purchases to take place.

Violations carry a fine of $645, and a total out of pocket expense of $795 with court costs.

The businesses that were either in compliance or are not currently selling alcohol included: Napoli’s, Carlos O Kelly's Mexican Cafe, Villa’s Patio Mexican Restaurant, Naso's, Pitcher’s, Cocktails and Company, Q Dogs BBQ, Tomaso's, Ramsey's Metro Market, Urban Pie, Goldfinch Tap and Eatery, Wrigleyville, Big

Shots Bar and Grill, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Zio Johno's, and Uptown Snug.
