IOWA CITY, Iowa - The city of Iowa City and the Downtown District are rolling out a grant program to help restaurants keep their patios open as colder weather sets in.
The program allows businesses to apply for grants of $1,750 to winterize their patios. Businesses are allowed to get creative and pool grant funds together to create outdoor spaces customers can enjoy year-round.
Businesses will need to come up with a plan and present it to the Iowa City Fire Marshall. Once approved, they'll be able to apply for grant funding.
