DES MOINES, Iowa -- Unemployment is down in Iowa as more people go back to work.
Ongoing claims are down around 2,500 from the previous week.
Iowa has the 5th lowest unemployment rate in the country.
Iowa Workforce Development says November and December are traditionally months when more Iowans file for unemployment after the opportunity for summer work ends with the season.
Industries with the most claims include manufacturing, self employed people, construction, healthcare, and food services.
