CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The city of Cedar Rapids is offering more free pet food this weekend for derecho storm victims.
A third Pet Food Pantry Service is being held at the Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control offices on Washington View Parkway (7241 Washington View Parkway SW) from 1 pm to 3 pm Sunday.
The city says donations from Hill’s Science Diet and Purina are making the giveaway possible.
The pantry will be a drive thru, with people required to wear masks and say in their cars.
All items will be on a first come, first served basis, and will be handed out until 3:00 p.m. or until the supply is exhausted.
The city has also extended thanks to the non profit Friends Helping Friends Foundation which cares for homeless and displaced animals
