ISU to limit basketball fan numbers in Hilton Coliseum this season

AMES, Iowa -- There's going to be a little less magic in Hilton Coliseum this season.

Iowa State University is limiting the number of basketball fans in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Athletics Director Jamie Pollard says numbers will be limited to 1,373 fans for each men's and women's game--that's less than 10 percent of Hilton's seating capacity of just over 14,384.

Pollard also says there won't be any courtside seating for fans, concessions will only sell bottled soda and water, and face masks will be required.

The Iowa State men's team opens at home December 15th against Kansas State. The women's home opener is December 18th--also against Kansas State.
