DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa State Board of Health is recommending Governor Kim Reynolds impose a statewide mask order.
The 7-2 vote came from board members all appointed by Reynolds.
The governor has declined to issue a mask order numerous times, saying they're not enforceable.
But her proclamation this week requires masks at large gatherings, as well as hair salons and barber shops.
Masks are now required for groups of more than 25 people indoors or 100 peoples outdoors, except for those two-year-old and under.
Reynolds current proclamation runs through December 10th.
