The Cedar Rapids Community School District says most schools are preparing to welcome students back for in-person learning.
The district says the decision was made based on the decreases in COVID-19 positivity rate in the community, as well as stabilizing health care systems.
All elementary schools, Metro High School, Polk Alternative Education and three middle schools: Harding, Roosevelt and Wilson will have students back on Monday, December 7th.
Derecho-damaged schools like Taft Middle School and Kennedy High School will welcome back students at a later date.
