Iowa State Patrol, DCI investigate shooting at State Capitol building

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Iowa State Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating a shooting near the State Capitol building in Des Moines late Sunday afternoon.

The DCI says the victim was taken to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

The incident may have started with a traffic dispute.

While there was a rally supporting President Trump going on at the capitol building around the time of the shooting, neither the State Patrol nor the DCI have said if they are connected.
