Catholic Bishops of Iowa Endorse Pfizer, Moderna Vaccines

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Catholic Bishops of Iowa are endorsing the vaccines coming into the state.

They say public health takes precedence over any reservation about being treated with vaccines, and that they won't be effective if people do not use them.

The bishops say people can use the vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna in good conscience, stating they only made limited use of unethical cell lines during lab testing.

The bishops quoted the national Catholic Conference Committees on Pro-Life and Doctrine in a statement. "Morally speaking, the vaccine offered by these two companies is relatively remote from the evil of abortion, and so need not trouble anyone’s conscience to use either one."
