(Des Moines, IA) -- A West Des Moines man's been sentenced to seven years in prison for child pornography. Police say 33-year-old Dale Voss downloaded multiple child porn files on his computer and shared the files. Investigators found Voss had hundreds of images and ten videos of child porn on his computer.
United States District Judge Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger has also been ordered to serve five years of supervised release after his prison term and comply with sex offender registry requirements upon release.
Police say Voss came to their attention in July 2017 during an undercover investigation involving a file sharing program.
This case was investigated by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa as part of the United States Department of Justice’s “Project Safe Childhood” initiative, which was started in 2006 as a nationwide effort to combine law enforcement investigations and prosecutions, community action, and public awareness in order to reduce the incidence of sexual exploitation of children.
