CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Linn County should get its first delivery of COVID-19 vaccines next week.
The county health department says vaccinations will then begin in priority groups.
Department manager Tricia Kitzmann has confirmed that health care workers and nursing homes will receive the first doses.
The department says it’s been coordinating with community partners to receive and distribute the vaccine.
“Due to initial limited supplies of the vaccine, doses will be offered to health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities in the first phase of vaccine distribution,” said Kitzmann, Community Health Manager at Linn County Public Health. “As more vaccines become available, these groups will broaden to include more people becoming eligible to receive them.”
