(Des Moines, IA) -- MercyOne in Des Moines has received a shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. A spokesperson for MercyOne says the vaccine will be given to medical center providers, front-line workers, and others with direct contact with patients.
The state of Iowa says as of today, more than 84-hundred Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have been given to health care workers.
Residents of long term care facilities and assisted living facilities are scheduled to start receiving the vaccine starting next week.
