IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa's football season is over after a COVID-19 outbreak in the Missouri football team forced the cancelation of the Music City Bowl.
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz confirmed the end of the season, saying the Hawkeyes are disappointed that the game won't be played.
“We are extremely disappointed to have our season end today. This is a remarkable group of players and men, and it has been an honor to coach them" Ferentz says
The Music City Bowl was scheduled for December 30th in Nashville, Tennessee.
The bowl says it will automatically refund all purchases through Ticketmaster.
Iowa finishes the season 6-2, and is 15th is the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
