(Des Moines, IA) -- Tuesday's snow storm was one for the record books in Des Moines. The official snow-total at the Des Moines International Airport was 9.6 inches. The previous record for snow-fall on December 29th was just two inches, set on that date in 1907.
The National Weather Service says the rainfall equivalent of all that snow is just under one inch.
