(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines National Weather Service is predicting light to moderate snow for southeast Iowa on New Year's Day.
Forecasters say some areas could get 1-3 inches of snow, and a wintry mix is also possible in far southeast Iowa.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of southeast Iowa.
Roads could become slick on Friday and visibilities could be reduced, making travel hazardous.
