(Marion Co, IA) -- One man is dead and a woman is hospitalized after a head-on crash in Marion County. The Iowa State Patrol says a pick-up driven by 89-year-old Donald Shelford of Lovilia collided with an S-U-V driven by 51-year-old Janet Billings of Albia. The Patrol says the crash happened as both drivers navigated a curve on Highway 5, near T-17, west of Bussey before 8 this (Tuesday) morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says Shelford was pronounced dead at Knoxville Hospital, and Billings was taken to Monroe County Hospital.
