(Des Moines, IA) -- LifeServe Blood Center's putting out a call for donations. Spokesperson Danielle West says this week's winter storm forced them to reduce hours, and discouraged some donors from coming in to donate. She says the pandemic continues to impact supplies because of the cancellations of high school, college, and business blood drives.
She says they're accepting all blood types, especially types O-positive and O-negative. West also says they're continuing to encourage those who have recovered from COVID-19 to consider donating convalescent plasma, to help those still battling the virus. She says despite the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine, it's likely the plasma will be needed for many months.
