DES MOINES, Iowa -- It looks like Republicans will hold onto the Iowa Senate seat vacated by now U.S. Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

Late Tuesday night Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate tweeted Republican Adrian Dickey leads Democrat Mary Stewart by just under a thousand votes to secure State Senate District 41.

The counties in District 41 include Davis and Van Buren Counties, and parts of Wapello and Jefferson Counties.

Secretary Pate says all four counties in the district are reporting but the results are still unofficial.

The current unofficial results are 5,040 for Dickey and 4,074 for Stewart.
