(Jasper Co., IA) -- Several reports say a multi-car pileup has shut down Interstate-80 near Newton.
The Iowa Department of Transportation winter driving maps show travel is not advised on I-80 from Jasper County into the metro, or on Interstate-35 from Central Iowa to the far northern border of the state.
Crews are out diverting traffic around the crashes.
Delays can be expected.
The Iowa Department of Transportation and the Iowa State Patrol say it's best to stay home today, if you can.
