Light Snow, Sub-Freezing Temperatures Are Here to Stay

National Weather Service Local Storm Report Snowfall Total Analysis

(Des Moines, IA) -- The snow is here to stay.

The National Weather Service says more light snow is likely to fall along and south of Interstate-80 this afternoon, and more light snow is expected Monday.

They say wind chills well below normal will continue with negative-20 degree dips or cooler. 

Southern Iowa had the most snowfall so far this weekend with three-point-five-inches reported near Creston.

Local snowfall reports to the National Weather Service say Des Moines got one-point-six inches.

Ankeny got one-point-eight.

Cedar Rapids got between one and two inches, and the Quad Cities got a little over an inch.
