IOWA - The Iowa legislature is addressing the issue of child care access.
The House has passed a group of bills to boost access in an effort relieve a workforce shortage in the state.
One of the bills would remove a hurdle known as the Cliff Effect, where families lose state assistance for child care immediately when their incomes reach a certain level. It passed unanimously - 94-0.
The package of bills passed with bipartisan support Wednesday..
They also included a measure to increase state funding for child care.
The legislation will now move to the state Senate.
