Former Iowa Assistant Coach Resigns Day After Being Hired by NFL Team

JACKSONVILLE, Florida - Former Iowa strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle has resigned a day after he was hired by the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars.

The resignation follows backlash from his time at Iowa.

The university and Doyle agreed to part after he was placed on administrative leave when several former players accused him of racism.

Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer said in a statement that Doyle did not want to be a distraction while the NFL team is rebuilding.
