(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines airport passengers can now get a COVID test. Airport spokesperson Kayla Kavarna says there are three tests ranging in cost from 25-to-90-dollars. Results take less than an hour for the rapid antigen test and the antibody test. The more advanced, P-C-R test results come back in 24-hours. The P-C-R is needed for international travel. Testing is located in the temporarily-closed restaurant south of the ticketing area.
Kavarna says results from the rapid antigen test and the antibody test could come back with 15-minutes to an hour. She says testing is an option for all ticketed passengers, departing or arriving to the airport. If someone tests positive, the airport asks them not to travel. She reminds passengers that international destinations and some in the United States require proof of a negative test. .
The service is being offered by Dr. Jon Van Der Veer of Exemplar Health. The PCR test is $90, the rapid test is $65, and the antibody test is $25..
