LINCOLN, Nebraska -- Local police and the Nebraska State Patrol are searching for a woman who left the Lincoln Community Corrections Center to search for a job and didn't come back.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says 39-year-old Amanda Samaroo left the facility yesterday morning.
They say a tamper alarm was triggered on the monitoring device she was wearing shortly after one o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Police say staff at the downtown employment office were told Samaroo had left the facility and she did not return.
Samaroo is serving an eight to ten year sentence for charges of manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
She began her sentence in March 2018.
The department says she had a parole hearing scheduled in May.
Samaroo is five feet nine inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local police or the Nebraska State Patrol.
