(Des Moines, Iowa) -- A recent order from the Iowa Supreme Court will make it possible for convicted felons to serve on juries, once they've completed their sentence and had their voting rights restored.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds issued an executive order restoring rights of citizenship to felons who have served their time, including voting rights and the ability to hold public office. The Iowa Supreme Court's order says the ability to serve on a jury is included under rights of citizenship.
The change takes effect immediately and will be reviewed by the legislative council.
